February 20, 2007 -- "Rally For Life" (Frankfort, Kentucky)

Wayne and Simeon were invited to be on the program of the annual Rally For Life on Feb. 20, 2007 in our state capital. Wayne introduced and Simeon sang "4,000 Crosses" to begin the event. Hundreds of people, including Kentucky Governor Fletcher, Archbishop Thomas Kelly (Archdiocese of Louisville), and several state legislators were in attendance.

January 28, 2007 -- Memorial Service for the Unborn (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Wayne introduced "4,000 Crosses" at the annual Memorial Service For The Unborn, sponsored by Indianapolis Right To Life and held in the Indiana War Memorial. The song was sung by local pastor, Rev. Kevin Richeson.

November 13, 2006 -- Right To Life Breakfast (Evansville, Indiana)

"4,000 Crosses" was performed at a pro-life breakfast in Evansville, home of the inspiration for this song. Two inspiring speakers at the meeting, Dr. Alveda King and Sally Williams, spoke of the pain and grief caused by abortion. Their stories helped to inspire the writing of "The Last Time I Cry" in December 2006.

November 4, 2006 -- Cross Field erected in Evansville, Indiana

Wayne was honored to participate in the erection of the Evansville cross display that inspired the song, "4,000 Crosses." Several dozen adults and young people spent the morning hammering thousands of crosses into the ground, followed by the dedication of the field led by a local minister. It was a humbling moment for Wayne, because his song helped inspire the good folks in Evansville to continue erecting the field. (See some pictures of this event on the Photo page [pdf file].)

October 9, 2006 -- Right To Life Banquet (Fort Wayne, Indiana)

The Allen County, Indiana Right To Life featured "4,000 Crosses" at their annual banquet in Fort Wayne. Several hundred guests heard the song beautifully performed by a popular local singer, City Councilman Tom Didier.

May 27, 2006 -- "I Choose Life" radio interview

Wayne was interviewed for the "I Choose Life" radio program sponsored by Indiana Right To Life on station WFCV (1090 AM) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The program aired on Saturday, May 27, 2006, and it was replayed on an Indianapolis radio station, WAUZ (89.1 FM) the following week.

May 20, 2006 -- Evansville Courier & Press

The song "4,000 Crosses" and Wayne Carroll were the subject of a special feature article printed in the Evansville Courier & Press on May 20, 2006. The journalist, Mark Coomer, has a sister-in-law who works in the Vanderburgh County, Indiana Right to Life chapter. She was responsible for planning the cross field that inspired the song. When she told Mark about the song and the impact it was having on the Evansville pro-life community, he called Wayne immediately to begin working on the story.

This website was launched in May 2006 as a platform for sharing the message of the song, "4,000 Crosses," and as a vehicle for sharing other inspirational music written by Wayne Carroll.
